Serve at Christ Church
Serving is a way to live out our faith and support our community. From volunteering for worship services, offering hospitality, or serving in pastoral care (to name a few), there are many ways to get involved.
Worship Volunteers
It takes dozens of volunteers each week to offer our five services. We count on our members to use their gifts and share hospitality at each of our worship services. Their generosity makes it possible for all of us to gather in prayer. Please explore the various ministries below to see if one of these is a good fit for you.

Acolytes
Acolytes reverently assist clergy and enhance Episcopal worship services

Altar Guild
Help prepare the Altar, linens, and vestments for worship in the Church, St. Ignatius Chapel, and Parish Hall

Chalice Bearers
Assist in worship by leading prayers, reading, and serving the chalice at the altar

Choir
Enhance worship with hymns, anthems, and sacred music, supporting spiritual life

Flower Guild
Create floral arrangements for altars, side tables, and special events symbolizing the joy of Christian faith

Greeters

Wednesday Night Volunteering
Serving on Wednesday nights at Christ Church offers a meaningful opportunity to foster community connection. By serving, you help create a welcoming environment for all, ensuring an enriching experience for everyone who attends. Wednesday volunteers set up, serve, and clean up from our Wednesday dinner program.

Coffee Hour
Our weekly coffee hour is a great way for our parishioners to stay in touch and build lasting relationships. Each week volunteers provide the refreshments, set up, and then clean up from our 10:30 am coffee hour. On First Sundays, we offer an extra coffee hour outside after the 11:15 am service as well. Martha's Guild
The members of Martha’s Guild prepare and serve food at receptions for the bereaved families and friends of parishioners whose funerals are held at Christ Church. Begun in the 1980's, this guild has been offering this important ministry for more than forty years. There is now a dedicated group who serve for two month periods during the year. Anyone is most welcome to join the guild and help with this ministry of compassion. If you are interested in serving in this very rewarding mission, please contact Lynne Turner or click the button below.

Docents
Docents welcome visitors to our historic, beautiful Christ Church and share our history with them. Schedules are flexible, set month by month; Docents serve as often as they wish, seasonally or year-round. They open the church 2pm-5pm Tues-Sun and mornings by appointment for bus groups.

Front Desk Volunteers
Front Desk volunteers answer the phones, greet visitors, mail out information to members, keep front office stocked with coffee and cold drinks and help prepare the bulletins for the Saturday and Sunday Services.

Flower Ministry
Our Flower Ministry team takes the altar flowers we use on Sundays and turns them into small vases of flowers that are then delivered to shut-ins, those on our prayer list, or to those celebrating new children or other blessings. Each flower arrangement includes a note of encouragement. We reach more than 60 parishioners each month through this ministry. Please use the link below if you'd like to help.

Angel Guild
Our Angel Guild provides meals for families facing acute need such as surgery recovery, bereavement, or some other challenge for which prepared meals are helpful. Angel Guild members use an online portal to sign up for a meal when a family is in need. We usually have basic information about what each family likes or what food allergies they may have. Nothing says love like a meal offered to another!
